CATHERINE WILSON

CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Designing Homes To Help You Live Better

For more than two decades, Catherine has been designing living spaces based on her clients’ lives. Every project begins with a deep dive into each family’s needs and wants. For Catherine, understanding the lifestyle of homeowners requires her to be part psychologist, part anthropologist, and part detective, all to realize the reality behind how someone uses their home.

Catherine calls it “bowing to the house.” For her, the phrase means respecting the home and its inhabitants by creating living spaces and personal environments that are unique extensions of her clients. Her designs result in spaces that are unique — because every family with which Catherine works is unique. To uncover what makes each homeowner tick, she delves into details such as where things pile up, where children and dogs play and run, and the prized family treasures that demand inclusion in their home. It is only once she has these insights that the design work begins.

She draws on inspiration from art and artistry in the world around her, from architecture and textiles to classic and modern arts and travel. The rich tapestry of her 20-plus years of experience enables her to curate spaces for clients. She is known for being an innovative problem-solver thanks to her keen eye for detail and the way she uses texture and form to complement spaces. Catherine creates personalized havens that allow people to live better and that reflect who they are — without looking like their home has been professionally designed.

A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in psychology and speech communications, Catherine was able to turn her creative passion into a business with the help of EO-Entrepreneurs Organization. The serial renovator enjoys traveling with her husband Bill in her off time, including visits to her kids — son, Will, who lives in New York City, and her daughter, Clayton, who is attending school in Paris.
